2014 Book Challenge

This year, I set a goal for myself to read at least 35 books. I enjoy reading a lot, but I don't always make the time.

If you're in need of some interesting books to read, here are a few suggestions based on what I've read so far:

The first book I read was The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson. This book is about a 100 year old man named Allan who climbs out of his window because he doesn't feel old, and stumbles upon some crazy circumstances. The book has a police chase, murders, history, romance, traveling, and adventures. It was pretty funny and thoroughly enjoyable to see what kinds of craziness Allan got into in his 100 years of life.

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks was a book that a friend recommended. The book talks about Henrietta Lacks, whose cervical cancer cells were taken without her knowledge. Those cells (known as HeLa in the scientific community) have been crucial to scientific discoveries and life-saving vaccinations. The books talks more about who Henrietta was, and her family's reaction to the HeLa cells.
