If life hands you lemons, make lemonade. Life can be crazy and can throw you some curve balls and as a college student, this can be especially true. Compiled here is a list of advice from our very own UAT students.
College is an exciting time, and for many, the first time being out of a parent’s house. While the UAT Café is a great option for food, I found myself missing key meal times. The UAT dorms at Founder’s Hall, has an alternative to the UAT café. Its very own kitchen. Cooking can be a bit terrifying if you don’t know what you are doing, and as a ‘on a budget’ college student, what can you even make? Below I've listed some of my fellow students favorite recipes along with some estimated costs of the ingredients (and usually there are leftovers which is another meal to stretch your budget) I recommend seeing what's on sale when planning what you are going to cook.
Whenever I’m on shift I strive to make sure everyone is having a good day at the front desk. Some of us, Student Ambassadors do have some downy days or just are tired. I noticed that so I decided to be the goofball of the SA's.
Some things that might not be evident from an outside view are that at UAT if you are truly searching for a family you will find one. We all come from different walks of life and it can be intimidating. I personally come from a tech background but I am not 100% into all the exact same things as some of the primary demographic. For instance, I am not super well versed in popular culture which is something I have come to learn many students have knowledge about.
Summer is winding down and the weather outside is getting cooler. UAT, however is warming up for the Start of the Fall Semester. Starting September 4th, Classes will be starting up again and students will in full swing, getting the knowledge needed to pursue their goals. There are some interesting changes that are happening in the new semester. Lets take a look, shall we?
Today I will finish my last final when I present a site that my team and I built this semester that interacts with an online database. Once that is completed, I can relax for a couple of days before heading home for a semester break. I am so excited to be going back home to Baton Rouge, for two weeks to see my family and friends. My niece turned two-years-old during this semester, so I am interested to see how much she's changed since I've last saw her.
Hi all – I know I do not post a lot about myself, so I decided to start off the new year with an update on everything I'm doing at UAT. This is the start of my fifth semester here at UAT, and it's getting closer and closer to my graduation. I have about two more semesters to go!
