World War What?!

Hello All!

We're getting into the first couple weeks of this semester and thing are already getting interesting! As opposed to last semester, this semester is much easier and has opened up a lot more time for me to work on other projects!

The classes I'm taking this semester are mostly all required and core classes. The only class that isn't is core related is my Character and Vehicle modeling class that I am very excited about. So far throughout my time here at UAT I've only worked in 3ds Max. One of the things I am most excited about is learning the other main modeling program: Maya. I think it will be interesting and challenging to learn a new program and new techniques at once. For this class we were suggested to join a project at the Job Fair hosted at the school at the end of the first week of classes. Unfortunately I had work but I was still able to join a project that was just green-lighted this semester. the project I joined is called The Great War: Strategic Tactical Advance. This game is a   WWI real-time strategy game. For this project I am creating a vehicle model and a character model that I can apply for class. It's great to be able to work on outside projects and homework at the same time! The vehicle I'm doing is called a Fokker. you can take a look at it here.

Another big project I am joining this semester is called The Composer. The Composer is about a musician who has just lost his wife and is struggling with getting back into the flow of creating new music. As he is writing music he gets frustrated and slams on the keyboard. Suddenly all of the notes on the paper have fallen off of the page and he is sucked into a papery world. I'm super excited about this project and can't wait to get started on helping out with it!

Well that's all for now!
