University of Advancing Technology (UAT) student ambassadors are essential in guiding new and prospective students. They serve as the first point of contact, offering valuable insights, answering questions, and connecting students with the resources they need to succeed.

Philip Phuong, a junior studying Virtual Reality, describes the ambassador role as being a key resource for new students. “As ambassadors, we’re here to help with inquiries and direct students to the right departments. We’re often the first people they turn to for guidance about the school,” he explains.

Avery Willets, a junior majoring in Data Science, shares that choosing UAT was driven by its strong focus on technology. “I come from a low-tech area, so UAT’s emphasis on advancing technology was a perfect fit for me. It’s been an incredible opportunity to dive into cutting-edge tech,” Avery says. He also finds the role rewarding because it allows him to connect with the passionate and dedicated individuals at UAT, which he finds truly inspiring.

Marcus Frazier, a sophomore majoring in Robotics and Embedded Systems, joined the student ambassador program to engage more deeply with the university. “Being an ambassador has broadened my understanding of UAT and given me the chance to share my positive experiences with others,” Marcus notes. He appreciates the job’s flexibility, which allows him to manage his homework during quieter times at the front desk.

Advice for New Students

For new students, Philip's advice is both practical and inspiring: “Use your first semesters to assess your limits and push yourself as you grow more comfortable.” Avery highlights the importance of time management, saying, “Developing strong time management skills is essential for keeping up with your work.” Marcus adds a motivational note, encouraging involvement: “Join clubs, make friends, and stay engaged. Your peers will be a valuable resource, and good time management will help you manage projects effectively.”
