God of War's (GoW) new games are absolutely stunning! Personally, I have not had the chance to play the original games, but there is a lot of lore that I have read about and it sounds pretty amazing!
With the new games, not only do we have a more story driven games but the graphics are beautiful as well. The last game was visually appealing but the improvements with the new game are very noticeable. They had kept the same animations for a lot of movements but added in the newer models, which balances it out.
I just finished God of War: Ragnarok, and even though it took me a while to complete—just over a month—I had moments of happiness, bawling my eyes out (more than once), fear, anger, all of the emotions you could possibly feel! I have grown so attached to all of the main characters and feel a little lost now that I have "finished" the game. Thankfully they have the after credits exploration where you can go and see the aftermath of Ragnarok, which, in my opinion, is unique for a game. Usually you have to save a file before the last big fight and go back to a world before the disaster in order to explore, and with GoW it opened up even more opportunities, side quests, and lots of amazing and fun things to do.
My favorite place to go is Jotunheim, and I wish we had more to explore there as Kratos. I want to go see all of the different places that could be offered. Not only is it mysterious as it's one of the realms we haven't seem a lot of in either games, but the colors, nature, animals and everything about this realm is so whimsical. It's truly like you are stepping into a different world. We also get the awesome character Angrboda.
If you have yet to play this game, I highly recommend it. there will be moments where you are feeling emotions you never knew you could feel towards a game, the artwork is stunning and the world building is beyond what you could even imagine.
