The Road to Evo: Part 1

Super Smash Bros Melee

UAT LogoEver since my last blog, I’ve been able to put in a purchase request to the school to (hopefully) fund my ticket for Evo. I sincerely hope that it gets approved because then I will be able to represent UAT at Evo which, in turn, is also a huge marketing opportunity in itself. I hope to do well enough to make it out of pools and possibly even compete against the best of the best to secure my spot as a ranked player.

Because I’ve made the decision to go to Evo, I’ve taken every oppurtunity to improve and compete with others as often as possible. Next weekend, I’m going to an event called Runback 2017 where many big name players will come to compete such as Axe, Shroomed, Duck, SFAT, and more. People are coming from places such as North California, Michigan, and even those at home here in Arizona. As of May 12th, there are 174 entrants which means there are 173 people that I have to prove myself to in order to make it to the top. There’s an incredibly slim chance that I’ll actually be able to win, but I’m there to get tips and I look forward to improving.

ControllerThere’s a long road ahead of me. 2 months from now, I’ll be on my way to Las Vegas to compete in the largest event I will ever take part in. The never ending road of improvement is one that I hope to take long strides on and reach milestones faster than I ever could. I hope that I’ll be able to do well and represent UAT to the fullest.
