Hi All! Well I’m back from Germany and the flight to and from there may have been the worst experience in my entire life. Now I have flown to and from Germany before so this time it was nothing new. It’s mostly because I hate everything about flying. From the uncomfortable seats and cramped area to the ten hours you have to stay in those uncomfortable seats in a cramped area. It took about fifteen hours to get there and seventeen hours to get back which flew by pretty fast (pun intended). It took us a couple days when we got there to get used to the time change which is around 9 hours ahead from here in Arizona.
While in Germany we visited some pretty interesting places. We went to Cologne where we saw this huge gorgeous Gothic church. It was right outside the train station and it towered over everything around it it was quite spectacular. We toured around the church and even got to see the treasury where they keep the golden shrine of the Magi, which was awesome. Then we attempted to go up the tower which was around 500 steps up. Now I don’t know how many of you have tried to climb up a tower in and old Gothic building but I assure you it is a painful experience. The whole way up is narrow maybe a normal sized person and a half wide after the first couple steps your thinking this isn’t so bad, then you get up a hundred steps and you wish for sweet salvation. But once you reach the bell tower and get to see the gigantic bells of the tower its worth it. It was a fun place to visit and I would recommend stopping by if you ever get the chance.
Paris was also amazing. My girlfriend and I went on a tour of Paris so we got to see all of the important and cool sites. We saw the Castle of Versailles, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Palais Garnier (which is a huge opera house), and the Place de la Concorde where they still had a giant Christmas tree and Ferris wheel set up. We got to tour through The Louvre where we got to see the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. And obviously we rode up the Eiffel Tower and looked out over the whole of Paris. Overall it was pretty fun and amazing. But now its time to get back into the groove of schoolwork.
